Covenant Chinese Reformed Church

On February 8 Christ Reformed and Covenant Chinese Reformed Church (CCRC) will hold a joint service at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary to commemorate the particularization of CCRC as an independent congregation. The service will be conducted in English and Mandarin. Our catechetical service, which normally begins at 12:00 p.m. will be moved to 9:00 a.m. There will be no Sunday School.

Mr. Jared Pine will be ordained to the office of Minister of Word and Sacraments as a pastor-church planter in Mexicali, Mexico. The congregation of Christ Reformed, family and friends of Jared are cordially invited to this ordination service which will be held at Christ Reformed Church this Saturday, January 17 at 4:00 PM. Dr. Kim Riddlebarger will be preaching from 2 Timothy 3:1-4:5, and there will be refreshments after the service. Join us on this exciting day in the life of our church as the council commissions Jared to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to Mexicali.

You, your family, and friends are invited to join us as we gather for the annual Service of Lessons and Carols on Friday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m.

This is a wonderful opportunity to hear the Scriptures read and proclaimed, sing Christmas carols, and hear the choir sing choral works especially fitting for this time of year. What makes this service so rich is that the liturgy situates the birth of Christ against the backdrop of redemptive history. The incarnation is a key part of the creation-fall-redemption-consummation movement in scripture, and the nine lessons illustrate that vividly.

piece, for the church party. Each table will be covered with a white tablecloth. Just bring your ideas and decorations to make the evening more festive. We will decorate on Thursday, December 11 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, December 12 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Please stop by the Christmas sign-up table on Sunday and let us know if you’d like to decorate a table, help with set-up or other volunteer needs for the party.
